East Coast, 1850s to 60s wagon gun, non functioning. .44 cal. Percussion muzzleloader. 26 1/2'' half octagon half round barrel. The wooden stock is good with crack on left & right side of forend from front end to bump in stock by lock plate, crack on left side by screw that goes down 2'', chip on right side by lock plate, scratches, dings & wear from age/use. The metal finish rates 0% with no finish remaining with pitting, rust spots, spots of gray & brown patina. Upper tang has decorative engraving with pitting & brown patina near barrel, hammer & lock plate have faint engraving under heavy pitting & brown patina. Bore is fair with faint rifling, rust & pitting. Simple front blade & V-notch rear sight. Brass crescent buttplate with upper tang. Comes with ram rod. Nipple has been broken off making it non functional. This rifle was a early wagon gun that was mostly likely used for setters from the east heading west to gather food or for self protection.
