Colt, Model 1877 Lightning, CAL: 38, MFG: 1899, SN: 113086, Double Action Revolver, 4 1/2'' barrel. The Rampant Colt logo, checkered hard rubber grips are very good & solid, with smoothed checkering, contusions & scrapes. The metal finish has worn gun metal gray, with some brown patina, spotting & speckling. Bore is good, with consistent roughness & spotting. The barrel holds a blade front sight & frame has an integrated rear groove. Action & cylinder function, but aren't tight & have a bit of play causing it to occasionally roll back. The 1877 Lighting was the companies first double-action handgun, brought out to compete with the double-action British bulldog revolvers gaining in popularity at the time.
