Remington, 1863 New Model Police, CAL: .38 RF, MFG: 1863-88, SN: 16070, Single Action Revolver, 4 1/2'' barrel. The wood grips are very good & solid, displaying small contusions & scrapes. The metal has toned to an even brown patina & the brass trigger guard has a nice aged patina. Stampings are worn thin, barely legible. Bore is fair, dark & rough, with consistent pitting. The barrel holds a small half-moon front sight & the frame has a integrated rear groove. This example has been factory converted to .38 RF from .36 cal blackpowder. Appx 18,000 were produced.
