Winchester, Model 1873, 2nd Variation, CAL; 44-40, MFG: 1881, SN: 63632, Lever Action Rifle, 24 1/4'' Octagon barrel, Full mag. The original straight grip wood stock & forend are very good & solid. They displays numerous contusions, scrapes & scratches, with possible protective oils added over the years, giving it a nice aged appearance. The metal finish has toned to an even chocolate brown patina, with areas of wear thinning to a gun metal gray. Metal surfaces have speckling & light pitting. The bore has areas of spotting & pitting, amongst very good rifling. The barrel carries an adjustable rear sight & a silver blade front sight. Stock carries a sliding trapdoor crescent metal buttplate. Comes with Winchester factory letter confirming configuration & dates. This antique rifle has a wonderful aged & authentic appearance. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 2500 to 4500
