FANTASTIC Winchester, Model 1886, Early First Model, 40-82 W.C.F., MFG: 1887 (Antique), SN: 9730, Lever Action Rifle, 26'' Round barrel, Full mag. The original straight grip stocks are excellent, retaining nearly all the original finish other than some thinning at the wrist. The stocks display a handful of minor handling marks & tiny contusions. The original metal blue finish on the barrel & mag rates 97%, with a spot of corrosion/ bluing loss on the top of the barrel between the receiver & the rear sight. The receiver, lever, hammer, buttplate & forend cap are all case-hardened, displaying beautiful & vivid case-colors. There is a clean spot of corrosion on the bridge of the receiver, another on the belly & some rust corrosion on the buttplate. The sliding bolt & loading gate retain 905% of their original bright blue. Fitted with an original adjustable rear & front sights. Bore is excellent, clean & bright. Stock carries a crescent metal buttplate. Comes with a Cody Winchester Factory Records Letter, which confirms production dates & configuration. This rifle is an excellent example of a very high condition, strongly case-colored 1886.* Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 12000 to 16000
