Winchester, Model 88, CAL: 284 WIN, MFG: 1964, SN: 151371A, Lever Action Rifle, 22'' barrel. The original early variation checkered & metal capped pistol grip wood stock is excellent, as the finish has been professionally restored, with few minor scuffs. The walnut toned finish is very nice, as is the grain of the wood. The metal blue finish rates 95% overall, with a few small blemishes or scuffs. Bore is excellent & bright, with crisp rifling. The receiver is factory tapped & drilled for scope mounts. The barrel holds a flip-up leaf rear sight & ramp elevated hooded blade front sight. Stock carries a checkered plastic buttplate. Sling loops present. A very nice example of an early pre-64 88 in one of the rarer calibers. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
