SCARCE! Remington, No. 7, CAL: 22 S, MFG: 1903-10, SN: 300086, Single Shot Rolling Block Rifle, 26 3/8'' half octagon/half round tapered barrel. Manufactured on Remington Model 1871 SS pistol action frames. This was Remington's last rolling block rifle, with approximately, just 350 No. 7 rifles manufactured in all variations. Chambered in .25-10 Stevens, .32 & the .22 short or long rifle rimfire cartridges, the short has become most popular amongst collectors. The original finely hand checkered & capped pistol grip wood stocks, with ebony forend inlay, are excellent, displaying the majority of the original finish, & very minor contusions, scratches & scrapes. The end & inside of the forend are marked with ''86'' as matching partial of the SN. The barrel is also stamped with the same ''86'' under the forend & 22S caliber marking in front of forend. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 95%, with some light speckling. The receiver has toned to a mix of brown patina & metal gray in areas of wear. Bore is very good, some light spotting amongst strong remaining rifling. The barrel carries a flip-up globe front globe sight & the rear of the receiver carries a special flip-up Lyman tang sight, with large aperture disc. Buttstock carries the original checkered buttplate. Checkered trigger. An original & excellent example of a very rare No. 7 Rolling Block Rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 4000 to 8000
