Japanese, Tokyo Arsenal, Sporterized Type 38, CAL: 308 WIN, MFG: 1906-32, SN: 31716, Bolt Action Rifle, 24'' step-down barrel. Top of receiver carries the Chrysanthemum flower seal. Left side of barrel stamped ''WIN 308''. The cheeked & capped pistol grip wood stock, with black forend tip is very good, displaying contusions, scratches, scrapes & dings. There's a small glued edge chip repair behind the bolt & the right side of stock has a 1/2'' natural knot. The metal finish has toned to a mix of metal gray, brown patina & remaining blue. Bore is good, clean & bright, but with spots of roughness between strong rifling. The receiver holds a Lyman 575ME side mounted peep sight, while the barrel has a ramped blade front sight. Buttstock carries a ventilated recoil pad with a small missing chunk at the toe. Sling swivels, with a Hunter 2001 leather sling. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 200 to 400
