British, No 4 Mk 1 SMLE, Sporterized, CAL: 303 British, MFG: 1944, SN: M39I87, Bolt Action Rifle, 22'' barrel. The cheeked & capped pistol grip Monte Carlo style wood stock is good & solid. Finish is good, with multiple scratches, scrapes & dings. There is a small diamond of checkering near the black forend tip. The metal blue/gray finish on the barrel rates 85%, 70% on the receiver. Bore is good, with strong rifling. The receiver holds a dual flip-up peep rear sight, while the barrel holds a ramped blade front sight. Buttstock carries a grooved black plastic buttplate. The belly of the stock has two open holes & one filed hole from vacated sling studs. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 250 to 500
