Colt, AR-15 SP1, CAL: .223, MFG: 1981, SN: SP129663, Semi Auto Rifle, 21'' barrel. The SP1 was Colts first commercial semi-auto version of the Military M-16, with distinctive triangular handguards. The synthetic fixed buttstock & forend are very good, displaying surface scuffs & light scrapes throughout from typical use. The flat military style metal finish on barrel & receiver rate at 85%, with light scuffs & scrapes. Bore is excellent & bright, with crisp rifling. The receiver carry handle/ rear sight fixture is mounted with a correct period, Japanese made, Colt marked, 3x20 scope. Rifle also carries the A1 sights. The barrel mounted with the pre-ban flash hider & bayonet lug, with the bayonet. Buttstock carries a black plastic buttplate, with integrated checkered metal trap door for cleaning kit. No magazine. Sling loops present & come with a black nylon sling. As an original Pre-ban Colt AR-15, this example is typically very desirable amongst Colt collectors & enthusiasts. FFL Req. - Value: 1500 to 3000
