RARE H. Pegam, O/U Shotgun/ Rifle, 16 Ga/ 7x72mmR, MFG: 1933, Ferlach Austria, SN: 2174.33, Hammered O/U, 23 3/4'' Solid rib barrels. The Pegam business ceased after 1939. The finely hand checkered, cheeked & capped pistol grip stocks are excellent, with minor contusions, rubs some thinning to the original finish. The barrels have been reblued & display 90% coverage. The receiver & other metal components are case-hardened & display an aged gun metal gray & some faded remnants of case-colors. The receiver, lock plates, trigger guard, hammers & break lever all display finely executed hand engraving of a European style. The engraving consists of an elk, pronghorn mountain goat, stag deer & a wild hare amongst a mountain scene, forest & oak leave & vine back ground. Some additional border engraving on the barrels. The gun is mounted with a Weaver K3 scope, with rings & blocks mounted on integrated European style hook blocks. The rib carries the original folding leaf rear sight, which lays flat into the rib & a small blade front sight. The shotgun bore is very good, rifle bore is good, but with areas of pitting. Double triggers. Stock carries a ventilated recoil pad. Sling loops carry a nicely handmade & tooled leather sling. Comes with a modern hard plastic case, with red satin lined interior.
