Henry Arms Co, Hammer Double, CAL: 12GA, MFG: C.1880, SN: 49386, Break Action SxS Shotgun, 20 1/2'' barrels. The checkered & capped pistol grip wood stocks are fair, the wrist has a black wrap holding together damage around wrist. There are other contusions, scrapes, nicks, dings & an added layer of finish or varnish over the original finish. There are 5 ''Kill notches'' on the upper comb, near the buttend. The right side of the stock carries a copper badge that reads ''TERRITORIAL PRISON, GUARD, DEER LODGE MONTANA'' in four lines. The metal finishes are a mix of aged brown patina & applied blue & brown finishes. The receiver & surrounding metal surfaces display a simple ornamental hand engraving. Bores are fair, with areas of roughness & some pitting near the muzzle. The solid rib holds a single front bead. Buttstock carries a replacement buttplate, with some edge fit issues holding a bit of filler. Double triggers. The shotgun certainly has the ''look'' of a well used & worn old West firearm.
