J. Nowotny SxS Shotgun, CAL: 16 GA, MFG: N/A, SN: 15909, Break Action Shotgun, 28 3/8'' barrels. The top of the barrels read, in crude writing ''J. NOWOTNY'' & ''PRAHA C.S.R''. The original checkered, beaded cheek & capped pistol grip wood stocks are excellent, as partially lightly sanded or cleaned & carrying an added layer of finish over the original finish. The metal blue finish on the barrels rates 90% overall, with some rust speckling. The receiver & trigger guard are silver finished, with a thin aged dullness. The receiver is beautifully engraved with ornamental scroll work & game scenes. On the left side of the receiver there's a dog & quail game scene, on the right a dog & pheasant game scene. on the bottom a bull elk & on the trigger guard a perched turkey. All of these game scenes & vignettes are accompanied by intricate ornamental scroll work. Bores are excellent, with some striations. The solid matted rib holds a single front bead. Buttstock carries a grooved plastic buttplate. The pistol grip cap has a couple minor edge chips. Sling loops present. A finely crafted SxS shotgun. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
