Franz Sodia, Ferlach, CAL: 12 GA, MFG: 1950's, SN: 2916, Break Action O/U Shotgun, 28 1/2'' barrels. The original, checkered, beaded cheek, & capped pistol grip wood stock & three piece forend are excellent, displaying minor contusions & surface scrapes to the finish. The metal blue finish on barrels rates 95% overall, with light scuffs & blemishes. The receiver is coin silver. The entirety of the receiver, trigger guard, break lever, forend metal components & screws are all beautifully & intricately hand engraved. The receiver displays multiple game scenes; on the left a pointer & two quail, on the right a fox & two woodcocks, on the bottom two mallards, as well as a variety of ornamental scroll work. Bores are excellent. The solid rib holds a single front bead. Buttstock carries a solid black rubber recoil pad. Sling loops present. Double triggers. A truly outstanding example of a high grade Austrian shotgun. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1500 to 2500
