Merkel/Simson O/U Shotgun, CAL; 12GA, MFG: N/A, SN: 36181, Break Action Shotgun, 29 5/8'' barrel. The original highly figured grain & finely checkered walnut stocks are very good, displaying minor handling marks & dings to the finish. The stocks have been cleaned, possibly lightly sanded & refinished. The restored metal blue finish on the barrels rates 85% overall, with stampings thinned. The receiver is coin silver. The entirety of the receiver, trigger guard, break lever, barrel ends, forend release lever & screws all exhibit outstanding, factory hand ornamental /scroll engraving. Bores are excellent. The solid rib holds a small silver mid rib bead & larger white front bead. Stock carries a solid rubber recoil pad.* FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1000 to 1500
