Springfield. Model: 1873. Cal: 45-70. MFG: 1883. S/N: 203667. Trapdoor breech loader. 32 1/2'' Barrel. The straight wrist wood stock is very good, two nails through stock that look to have used to hold in plaque on both sides, scratches, dents, gouges, chips & wear from use/age, ''JAM'' carved into left side of stock, ''P'' in circle cartouche on bottom of stock behind lower tang, Faint cartouche on left side of stock above trigger. All metal parts are worn to a even brown patina with rust speckling. Lock is marked with eagle, ''U.S. Springfield'', top of breech block is marked ''MODEL 1873'', rear of receiver is marked with S/N, left side of barrel is marked with ''V'' over ''P'' over Eagle, ''P'', both barrel bands marked with ''U''. Bore is fair with pitting & worn rifling. Front blade sight, Rear U-notch tangent sight. Metal buttplate worn to a even brown patina marked ''US'' on upper tang. Bottom sling swivel & stacking swivel, missing cleaning rod. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 400 to 1000
