Danzig. Model: 88/05. Cal: 7.92x57mm. MFG: 1891. S/N: 71851. Bolt Action Rifle. 29 1/4'' Barrel. The straight wrist wooden stock is very good with scratches/dents & wear from use & age, Stock appears to have been lightly sanded & re-finished, worn cartouches on bottom of stock by wrist that reads, crown over ''B'', ''X6''. The metal finish rates 90% on barrel with spots of brown patina & lightly thinned bluing, Receiver was left in the white (Not Blued) From factory. Left side of receiver is marked with S/N, ''GEW.88'', top of receiver is marked with Crown, ''S'', ''DANZIG'', ''1891'' & proof marks, Left side of barrel is marked with S/N, ''8MM''. Bore is very good with light roughness. Barleycorn front sight, V-notch ladder rear sight that's marked in Turkish. Metal buttplate worn to a gun metal gray. Bottom sling swivels, has cleaning rod, comes with bayonet & sheath. A excellent example of Germanys first smokeless powder rifle. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 300 to 600
