Colt, SAA, CAL: 44-40, MFG: 1882, SN: 75908, Single Action Revolver, 7 1/2'' barrel. The Mother of Pearl grips are very good, displaying looks of fire & color, but with a couple small nicks on the left grip & a larger corner chip on bottom rear of the right grip. The top of the barrel is marked in a single line address ''COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG Co HARTFORD CT. U.S.A'', the left side of the barrel has a rare etched panel that's barely legible, but says ''COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER''. The left side of the frame is stamped with a three line patent dates ''PAT SEPT 19 1871, JULY 2,-72, JAN 19,-75''. The cylinder has a partial SN ''5908'' & the full SN is stamped on the frame, trigger guard & butt. The metal has fully worn to gun metal gray, with spotting & cleaned pitting. Bore is very good, with intermittent spotting near the muzzle, amongst proud rifling. The barrel holds a half-moon blade front sight. A nice pearl gripped early etched panel Colt SAA.* Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 3000 to 6000
