U.S Savage North 1861 Navy Revolving Firearms Model Percussion Revolver, 36 Cal, Single Action, MFG: 1861-1885, 7 1/2 '' barrel, SN: none, The wood grips are very good, with handling marks, nicks to the bottom edge & a 1'' crack on the left grip. The metal has worn gun metal gray, with some added brown patina & lots of speckling or cleaned pitting. There is one broken off nipple & a couple with edge chips. The loading lever may be a replacement & as it does not seem to function properly. The bore is fair, with lots of pitting. Recognized for its unique ''proto double-action'' with a cocking ring/ trigger underneath the actual trigger. When this cocking ring/trigger is pulled, it rotates the cylinder & cocks the hammer. Innovative for its time & fairly rare. Black Powder, No FFL Req. - Value: 300 to 1000
