Simeon North U. S. Midln Con Flintlock pistol. 54 cal., MFG: 1813-1818, SN: NONE Single Action, U.S. marked & with Eagle stamp. Built between 1813-18, 8 1/2'' Heavy barrel, with a 9/16'' muzzle. The wood is very good, with lovely grain & a feathered pattern. The stock has a large crack repair at the top of receiver & spliced inlay repair at the left side of the buttend. The metal has worn gun metal gray, with a thin brown patina & rust pitting in areas. Brass component has a smooth aged patina. Locks are functional, with strong spring tension. Bore is fair, with roughness. Has a 8 3/4'' ramrod. In 1813, Simeon North of Middletown Connecticut was awarded a contract with the United States Government to make 20,000 pistols over five years. This was the first government contract ever signed for weapons with interchangeable parts. Overall, a very good condition & wonderful example of a rare antique US marked military flintlock pistol. No FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 3000
