Description

Very Rare Sleeping Canvasback Drake. Glass eyes, solid wood, original paint, some edge wear, Canadian Antique Working Decoy, This bird is thought to have been primarily used along the shores of the mighty Lake Ontario on the wild and wooly cold days of late November and December when the Canvasbacks migrated from the Arctic down through North America to their summer homes as far south as the Gulf of Mexico. This bird is credited to Ward Brothers of Wards Island off the shores of Lake Ontario near Toronto. Grade: Excellent - Value: 300 to 550
