RARE Winchester Model 1892 SHORT RIFLE, CAL: marked 44 W.C.F., MFG: 1920, SN: 884413 Lever Action Rifle, 20'' Round barrel, Full mag. This special Short Rifle carries the factory shortened 20'' round barrel & the correct factory ''Short Rifle'' forearm, which at 8 1/4'' is 1'' shorter than the forearms on a standard 1894 rifle. The original straight grip wood stocks are excellent & solid. The stocks have minor contusions, scratches & scrapes to the original finish. The metal blue finish on the barrel & mag rates 95%. The finish on the receiver rates 70% having worn thin on the belly & with typical Winchester flake loss to the sides. Bore is excellent & bright. The barrel carries an original adjustable rear & pinch blade front sights. Buttstock holds a smooth, crescent metal buttplate. Factory ordered sling provisions.
