RARE Winchester, Model 1895 SRC, CAL: .30 GOV'T.1906, MFG: 1915, SN: 191724 , Lever Action Rifle, 21 3/4'' Tapered round barrel. This rifle is stamped on both sides of the stock with ''U.C.CO.'' & the left side of the receiver is stamped with the rack # ''42''. Other auctions have attributed these rifles to be from the United Copper Company. The original wood stock & forearm are excellent. They carry the original finish, with a few minor scrapes or contusions. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 95%, 80% on the mag box, while the receiver has worn mostly gun metal gray, with a thinning brown patina & some remains of blue in protected areas. Bore is excellent & bright. The barrel holds a military style rear ladder sight & pinned blade front sight. Stock carries a sliding trapdoor metal carbine buttplate. It also carries the desirable saddle ring. This is an excellent original condition rifle, with an unknown history but likely some stories to tell. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2000 to 3500
