Savage, Model 99, CAL: 300, MFG: 1958, SN: 279068, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Tapered round barrel. The original checkered & capped pistol grip wood stocks are very good & solid, but shows finish wear despite having finish added. The stock has a 6'' scratch on the right side through to the checkering in the wood. There is a very small edge chip fill on the right side of the forearm. There are very few other handling marks remaining to the current finish & overall appearance is still very good. The metal blue finish rates 75% on the barrel, while the receiver has worn mostly gun metal gray. Bore is excellent. The rifle is fitted with a Redfield 4x scope on Redfield base, while the barrel holds a blank filled rear dovetail & ramp elevated blade front sight. Stock carries a Pachmayr ventilated recoil pad, with LOP at 14'' over pad.. Sling studs, with missing chip under stock stud. A good old vintage hunting rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
