FANTASTIC Shiloh Sharps Model 1874 Sporting Rifle. CAL: 45 (45-70). SN: B9948. MFG: Modern, Lever Falling Block Single Shot Rifle, 30'' Heavy octagon barrel. This is a custom shop rifle that was completely hand built. The cheeked & flat pistol grip American Walnut stocks are excellent, with all its original hand rubbed oil finish. The grain is wonderful, with virtually no handling marks. The barrel retains 99% of the original blue. The case-hardened receiver displays wonderful & vivid case-colors. The lower tang is nicely checkered. Barrel is stamped on top flat ''SHILOH SHARPS MODEL 1874'' then marked ''CALIBER 45'' & ''2 1/10''. On the bottom flat under forearm are matching SN & caliber (45-70). The rifle fitted with a long range vernier tang sight, with screw height adjusting large disk aperture, a flip-up ladder rear sight with slide adjustment from 2 to 8 & a front globe sight. Tang & front sight protected with buckskin draw sting covers. Adjustable double set triggers. The stock carries an original checkered case-colored buttplate. Bore is minty. This is a fabulous replica of the Sharps manufactured Model 1874 Sporting rifles, of which approximately 6,400 were produced between 1871 & 1880. They were popular with market hunters in the West & were well known for their ability to take down bison at long ranges & also popular with long range target shooters. The double set triggers helped make them incredibly accurate. Sharps were manufactured in some of the most powerful black powder cartridges ever made. This is a great opportunity to buy a modern reproduction of a classic antique rifle.* FFL Req - Value: 2000 to 3000
