Remington, Model 8, marked .32 Rem Cal., MFG. 1908, SN: 7921, Semi-auto take-down rifle, 22'' barrel, 5 shot fixed magazine. 2nd year rifle. The original straight grip wood stock & forearm are good & solid, having been heavily sanded & refinished. There are the remains of several small scrapes, scratches & contusions to the high gloss refinish. The is a 2'' crack at the left side of the forend tip & a second 2'' forend crack in the belly against the receiver. The metal has worn almost entirely gun metal gray, with some splotchy areas of remaining blue or a thin brown patina. Bore is excellent. The rifle is fitted with a R41 receiver sight, a rear blank & a replacement blade front sight. There is an extra small screw filled hole on the left side of the receiver. Stock carries a period Red Head rubber recoil pad. Take-down forend screw had been replaced with standard screw. Forward screw in lower tang has been file scarred. Sling studs. Tight action.
