Wm. Parkhurst, Pine Ridge Indian Agency, CAL: 12GA, MFG: circa 1880's, SN: 1301, Break Action SxS Shotgun, 18 3/4'' barrels (barrels most likely cut). The left side of the stock displays multiple cartouches, they are listed as follows: BENICIA ARSENAL, US GOVT, ARROW, UNITED STATES INDIAN POLICE 1888, PINE RIDGE INDIAN AGENCY & ''US'' in a diamond. The right side of the stock carries a Pine Ridge Indian Agency Police badge, dated 1889, a Pine Ridge Indian Agency cartouche & U.S cartouche. The checkered, capped pistol grip stock & forend are good & solid. The stock has cracks coming off both side plates to the upper tang, a grain crack off the right side of the trigger guard, alongside other nicks, dings, scratches & scrapes. The forend also has cracks & similar wear. Black oval initial plate on belly. Vintage brass tacks in the stock. The laminated steel barrels have fully toned to a brown patina, with no visible laminated steel pattern. The hand engraved receiver, side plates & trigger guard have all fully toned to a brown patina. Bores are fair, with roughness throughout & pitting towards the chamber. The solid ribs holds a single copper bead. The barrel & forend are held together by a piece of cowhide leather. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
