Remington, Model 1889 No. 2, 12 ga. MFG:1900-08, SN: 207316, Break Action SxS Shotgun, Full/Full, 30'' Fine Twist barrels. The solid, matted rib is marked ''REMINGTON ARMS CO ILION, N.Y., U.S.A''. Both sides of the receiver are marked ''REMINGTON ARMS CO.''. The receiver water table, floor plate, forend wood, forend locking mechanism, & left barrel flat all display the full SN. Numbers ''30'' & ''36'' are stamped on the lugs. Underside of barrels are both stamped ''12'', for 12 ga. The original round knob wood stock & forend are very good, with the stock having been lightly sanded & nicely refinished, & the forend carrying the original finish, with an added thin coat of finish. There are a minor few dings, scratches & scrapes to the stocks. There is a tight 1'' crack at the toe of stock. The fine twist pattern on the barrels is prominent & carry a smooth chocolate brown patina. The case-hardened receiver, side plates, hammers & tangs all display remnants of case-colors. Bores are excellent. The matted rib holds a single front bead. Stock carries a RA checkered black plastic widows peak buttplate. The Model 1889 was Remington's finest & last hammer double barrel shotgun, built 1889-1908. There were appx 135,000 made in SN blocks of 0 - 105,000 & 200,000 - 260,000. Serial numbers were re-assigned to the 200,000 block circa 1900, making this shotgun (207316) produced between 1900-08. LOP 13 7/8'' to front trigger. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
