Springfield Armory, Model: M1903, Cal: .30-06, MFG: 1918, S/N: 971404, Bolt Action Rifle, 24'' Barrel. The straight wrist Walnut stock is excellent with a few minor nicks, dings, & dents. Left side of stock above the trigger is stamped ''A A G'', marking is worn but still present. Bottom of wrist is marked with a worn ''P'' mark. The blued metal finish rates 65% overall with spots of finished wear & thinned bluing. Top of receiver is marked ''U.S.'', ''SPRINGFIELD'', ''ARMORY'', ''MODEL 1903'', & S/N. The top end of the barrel is marked ''S A'', Flaming Bomb, ''12-31''. Rear barrel band is marked ''U'', front barrel band is marked ''H'' on the bayonet lug. Front sight band is marked ''A''. The bolt is marked ''D4'' on the third safety lug. Bore is very good, bright & mirror like with lightly thinned rifling. The barrel holds a blade front sight with a Buffington rear sight marked 3 to 27. stock carries a steel trapdoor buttplate. Stock has both bottom sling loops with the stacking swivel. A excellent example of the American classic M1903. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 700 to 1400
