UPDATED LISTING, Parris_Dunn Corp, U.S.N. Dummy Training Rifle MK 1. Bolt action, 24'' barrel. Styled off the M1903 Springfiled rifle, this was used as a training drill rifle & bayonet drill rifle in combination with a plastic dummy M1905 bayonet, by the Navy in WW2. over 500,000 of these rifles would be made, & Parris-Dunn would be awarded the Army-Navy E Award for his contribution to the war effort. The flat wrist wood stock is very good with nicks, dings, scratches, & use wear. The right cheek of the stock is stamped ''4-1872'', which could be an inventory or rack number. The buttplate is stamped ''DUMMY TRAINING RIFLE'', ''MARK 1 - U.S.N.'', ''PARRIS-DUNN CORP'', ''CLARINDA IOWA''. The metal has a black paint finish, with rust covering most of the metal parts. There is no visible markings on the metal, therefore was likely made up as a prop only rifle. Has a military flip-up rear sight, which is fairly banged up, & no front sight. - Value: 50 to 150
