Remington, Model: 03-A4 Sniper, Cal: .30-06, MFG: 1942, S/N: 3407228, Bolt action rifle, 24'' barrel. The Semi-Pistol grip type C Walnut stock is excellent with only minor scuffs/scrapes. The stock has no visible cartouches or markings, likely a after war Refurbishment or a commercial replacement. The parkerized metal finish rates 85% with light wear in areas. Top left of receiver is marked ''U.S.'', ''REMINGTON'', ''MODEL 03-A3'', top right of receiver is marked with the S/N, end of barrel is marked ''R A'', flaming bomb, ''6-44'', & ''P'' on the bottom. Bore is excellent, bright & mirror like, has 2 groove rifling. Has the earlier stand in Weaver 330 M73B1 scope a Redfield scope mount, scope has a full thin cross reticle, which is all period correct. The Lyman Alaskan scope was preferred by the army but with shortages they substituted it with the weaver 330 until they could get the Lyman scopes. Most of the fighting with the 03-A4 was done with the weaver but the Lyman scope did see some service on the 03-A4 on the few rifles that got them, but mostly near the end of the war. Stock carries a steel trapdoor buttplate. Bottom sling mounts with stacking swivel. Comes with green canvas M1 Garand sling. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2000 to 4000
