Remington, Model: 03-A3, Cal: .30-06, MFG: 1942, S/N:4039199, Bolt action rifle, 23 3/4'' barrel. The walnut straight wrist, finger grooved, type S stock is very good as being sanded & refinished. Metal is proud to the wood around the magazine, finger grooves are shallow from being sanded. Wrist of stock is noticeably thinned from sanding. Buttplate is slightly proud to the wood in spots. Faint remains of the ''P'' in circle stamp on bottom of wrist. The parkerized metal finish appears to have been re-done at some point & as such rates 99% overall. The top of the receiver is marked ''U.S.'', ''REMINGTON'', ''MODEL 03-A3'', & S/N. top end of barrel is marked ''R A'', flaming bomb, ''9-43''. bottom end of barrel is marked with a very faint ''P'' stamp. Bore is excellent, bright & mirror like with almost no visible wear, bore is the period correct 2 groove rifling. Barrel holds a blade front sight with protective hood. Receiver holds a windage & elevation adjustable aperture rear sight marked 2 to 8. stock carries a parkerized checkered steel trapdoor buttplate, with almost no wear. Bottom sling loops, with the stacking sling loop. The 1903 Springfield was issued with a pull through in the buttstock not a cleaning rod. Comes with a aftermarket leather sling that's based on the M1907 sling. A very nice refurbished rifle that would make a excellent shooter. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1400
