Ludwig Loewe & Co., Model: 1891 Argentino Mauser, 7.65x53mm Mauser, MFG: 1893, S/N: E9946, bolt action rifle, 29'' barrel. The original, straight wrist wood stock is excellent with only a few small nicks, dings, dents, & scratches. There is a cartouche in the right cheek of stock that has a few dents in the wood over it. There is a ''RA'' under a sun, inside a circle cartouche on the rear of the upper handguard. The S/N is stamped into the right of the stock below where its marked on the receiver. The deep black in color bluing on the barrel rates 90% with light scratches & light rust speckling. The blued metal finish on the reiver rates 70% with areas of thinning & bluing added where the crest was ground off & blued at the top of the receiver band, its very hard to find a Argentina Mauser today with a intact crest since it was part of the import deal that the national crest had to be removed. The left side of the receiver is marked with a cursive ''M'', & ''B'' over the top of each other, a symbol of two hands shaking, & the marking ''MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1891'', ''MANUFACTURA LOEWE BERLIN''. The right side of the receiver & barrel is marked with the S/N. the barrel has a few other proof marks. This rifle has a S/N matched bolt & magazine, but the bolt has been slightly bent down. The bore is excellent. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a V-notch Ladder rear sight marked 4 to 20. the stock carries a smooth, blued steel buttplate with some areas of wear & light pitting. The rifle has two bottom sling loops. Rifle also has cleaning rod. A nice example of a 1960's imported Argentine Mauser. Antique No FFL Req - Value: 300 to 800
