Tula, Model: SKS-45, Cal: 7.62x39mm, MFG: 1954, S/N: 3K5658, Semi-auto rifle, 20 1/2'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip laminated wood stock is excellent as is excellent. Stock has a factory 1 1/2'' by 1/4'' plug repair on top left corner, of the left side of stock where the stock meets the upper handguard. Right cheek of stock is marked with a faint box with a diagonal slash, that mark means it was a factory replaced stock when it was re-arsenaled. Left cheek of stock is marked with the S/N which was matched to the gun when it was replaced. Top of comb of stock is marked with ''V'' in box stamp, ''B'', & one three digit in box stamp that's hard to read. Bottom of stock is a ''M'' or a ''W'' & one other illegible mark on the wrist & a ''P'' mark behind the rear sling mount. The stock has a few more faint, hard to read cartouches. The metal finish on this rifle was originally blued when it was made. When the rifles were re-arsenaled in the late 50's & 60's, the arsenals parkerized them & added a black paint on top of that. The bolt were originally left in the white but during the refurb process they got the same treatment at the rest of the metal. The parkerized/black paint finish rates 98% overall. Left side of receiver is marked with proof marks & the S/N. right side of receiver is stamped with import marks, & ''CCCP12157'' which was added when it was imported. Top of barrel is marked with a bunch of different proofs. Top of receiver cover is marked with the arrow in a star Tula factory mark, faint box with a diagonal slash, which is a refurbishment mark, & ''1954r''. The bolt, receiver, magazine, & trigger guard are all S/N matched. Bore is excellent. Barrel holds a post front sight with protective globe, & a tangent U-notch rear sight marked 1 to 10. stock carries a steel trapdoor buttplate with a full cleaning kit inside, buttplate still has some original Russian shellac on it. Rifle has one bottom & one side sling mounts. Rifle has a fixed blade style folding bayonet, & has its cleaning rod. Rifle also has a period correct brown/tan canvas sling. A excellent example of a Russian SKS in the condition it would of left the arsenal after being refurbished. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
