Colt, Single Action Army, CAL: 45 COLT, MFG: 1897, SN: 169274, Single Action Revolver, 7 1/2'' barrel. The Rampant Colt & E. Pluribus Unum checkered hard rubber grips are excellent & solid. There are minor handling marks & the checkering is beginning to wear smooth. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 50%, but has near full coverage, with areas toned to a brown patina. The cylinder rates 50%, with areas worn to metal gray & intermittent surface spotting. The case-hardened frame retains very good case-colors, slightly faded with a thin aged patina. Bore is excellent & bright, with intermittent spotting throughout. Small square notch rear sight & blade front sight. The period this pistol was made has recently become known as the ''blackpowder transition'' period, to distinguish SAA's made with the modern stronger frame, yet still considered antique, due to their manufacture date.* FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 6000 to 9000
