Colt, Model of 1911 U.S Army, CAL: .45, MFG: 1918, SN: 440358, Semi Auto Pistol, 5'' barrel. The original checkered walnut grips are very good & solid. There are contusions, scrapes & dings. The metal blue finish has worn to a mix of metal gray & brown patina, with remnants of blue remaining in protected areas. The left side of the slide is marked with standard patent dates & address stamp. The right side of the slide is marked ''MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY''. The left side of the frame is marked ''UNITED STATES PROPERTY'', ''S17'' proof, & ''51'' stamped on the trigger guard. The right side of the frame is marked with the full SN. The barrel, slide stop, safety, hammer & extractor appear to be replaced, retaining most of their metal blue finish. Bore is excellent. Top of barrel is marked ''COLT 45 AUTO''. Factory U-Notch rear sight & small blade front sight. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
