Inglis, Model: MK1* Browning Hi Power. Cal: 9x19mm, MFG: 1944-45, S/N: 2CH3138, Semi-auto pistol. 4 3/4'' barrel. The checkered plastic grips are excellent with only minor wear. The black parkerized metal finish rates 95% with light wear. The left side of the slide is marked ''MK. I*'', ''BROWNING FN 9M HP'', ''INGLIS CANADA''. The right side of the frame, slide & barrel are marked with the S/N. right side of the frame also has other proof marks. The bore is excellent with minor wear. The slide holds a small barleycorn front sight with a tangent V-notch rear sight marked 50 to 500. pistol comes with what appears to be a reproduction wooden holster/stock. When the Germans invaded Belgium in WW2, many of the FN engineers & workers fled to Canada, & would take the specs & blueprints of many guns FN was working on including the FN Hi-power. Those workers would take those plans over to the John Ingles Company & begin working for them & make Hi powers for the Canadian government. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1400 to 2800
