Description

Fegyver-ES Gepgyar Budapest (FEG), Model: Roth-Krnka M.7 (Roth-Steyer M1907), Cal: 8x19mm Roth-Steyr, MFG: 1912, S/N: 14779, Semi-auto Pistol, 5 1/4'' barrel. The grooved wood grips are good with light wear. Left grip is missing a piece from the top left corner of grip, & has a crack running from the screw hole to the top of the grip. There is a unit disc embedded into the right grip that reads ''TR'', ''497''. The blued metal finish rates 65% overall with holster wear on the barrel, finish wear & thinning, & light rust speckling. The top of the barrel is marked ''FEGYVERGYAR BUDAPEST'', right side of the frame is marked with the S/N, rear of the frame is marked ''Wn'' Prussian eagle ''12''. The bore is very good. Its bright with light roughness throughout. The Roth-Krnka adopted in 1907, was one of the very early semi-automatic pistols designs & one of the very first Semi-auto pistols adopted by a major military power, the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It was designed by Karel Krnka, who worked for the ammunition company of Georg Roth. Karel would take inspiration from Georg's earlier pistol designs the Roth-Theodorovic pistols, which were long-recoil locking breech designs that very closely resemble the Roth-Krnka & come up with the pistol we have today. it is not fed by the standard detachable box magazine we know today, but instead fed from a internal fixed magazine that you had to reload with stripper clips like a rifle or the Mauser C96. the Roth-Krnka would later go on to be the base mechanism & design of its replacement in the Austro-Hungarian Army, the Steyr-Hahn M1912. Overall a very unique looking & interesting pistol. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 700 to 1400
