Winchester, Model 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine, 3rd model, .44 WCF Cal., MFG: 1885, SN: 183110B, Lever Action Carbine, 20'' Round barrel, Full mag. The original wood stocks are very good & solid. The wood has been restored after a small inlay repair on the right side of the wrist & a corner repair on the forend. These areas were lightly sanded & blend very well with the rest of the wood & the oiled finish. The wood has a nice aged or darkened rich chocolate brown appearance. There are several minor rubs, scratches & contusions. The left side of wrist has a tight 1/2'' stress crack. The original metal blue finish on the barrel & mag rates 75% overall. The receiver has worn gun metal gray, with a tiny bit of blue in well protected areas. Barrel fitted with a flip-up ladder rear & box carbine front sights. Bore is good, but with cleaned areas of roughness & pitting amongst defined rifling. The stock carries a sliding trapdoor carbine metal buttplate, with a four piece cleaning rod inside. Original saddle ring. Tight smooth action. A rare, very nice & desirable Model 1873 SRC in the desirable 44 WCF. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 3000 to 6000
