Remington, Model 8 Deluxe possibly ''C'' grade, marked .35 Rem Cal., MFG: 1914, SN: 33425, Semi-auto take-down rifle, 22'' barrel, The original deluxe checkered & round knob pistol grip wood stocks are excellent & solid. The inside of the forend is not stamped with a 3 for grade ''3'' or ''C'' grade, however that is not that uncommon as not all ''C'' grades were stamped just as not all forends were stamped with the matching SN either. The stocks do have nicer rippled grain, much nicer than standard straight grain. The stocks display hand checkering cut at 20 lines per inch. Being an earlier production rifle & a delux/C grade, the stock carries the cheeks at the wrist. There are minor scrapes, scratches & contusions to the original finish. There is some staining & darkening to the finish, particularly at the carry points & there may be a thin added layer of protective finish over the original or some oils. The original metal blue finish has good coverage, but honest wear has thinned the density of the blue to 65% on the barrel & 60% on the receiver, with the blue toning a greyish brown as it thins. The barrel carries an adjustable rear & standard front sight. Bore is very good, clean & bright. Stock carries the Remington UMC plastic buttplate. 4 rd fixed magazine. Tight action. A rare & very nice ''C'' grade/deluxe rifle, which is very collectible. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2000 to 3000
