Remington, Model 8, 32 REM CAL, MFG. 1931, SN 65268, Semi-Auto Rifle, 22'' barrel. Straight grip stock are most often found in the early years, with the round knob becoming more in vogue in the 1910-20's & finally the flat knobs becoming more popular in the late 20's & early 30's. This early 30's original flat knob pistol gripped rifle has excellent stocks, with a mix of original finish & an added layer of finish. There are some minor scratches & contusions, & a bit of crinkling or orange peel to the finish. The original metal blue finish rates 90% on the barrel, 85% on the receiver. The barrel is fitted with standard front & rear sights. Bore is very good, bright & clean. Stock carries the popular serrated, bottom tang Remington crescent metal buttplate. 5 rd fixed magazine. The left side of the barrel carries not only the manufacture date stampings, but a repair codes from where the rifle was returned to the factory for unknown repair or upgrade. These repair stampings typically are a 3 or 4 digit code ending in ''3'', in this casee ''LA3''. Sling loops in the stock & forend. A sharp looking & high collectors condition flat knob rifle.
