Remington, Model 8, .35 Rem Cal, MFG. 1936, SN: 69908, Semi-Auto Rifle, 22'' barrel. As a 1936 rifle, it is a last year of production example & one of the last & highest encountered SN's. The straight grip & schnabel forend stocks are very good & soild. There are numerous minor to small handling, nicks, scrapes & contusions to the original finish, which has some flaking & thinning at the carry points. The stock carries a Red Head ventilated recoil pad, which required the stock to be straight cut & a small filler piece of wood to fill the void from the lower tang of the old buttplate. The original metal blue finish rates 60% overall, but like most mid to late 1930's rifles, the blue is toning plum as it thins. Bore is excellent. The rifle carries a Lyman 41 side mounted receiver sight, while the barrel carries two filler screws in the rear provisions & a standard blade front sight. 4 round fixed magazine. Tight action. The stock & forearm carry sling loops. A well set up hunting rifle in the popular hunting 35 caliber. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 750
