Winchester, Model 74, Marked .22 L. RIFLE, MFG. 1951, SN: 280489A, Semi-Auto Rifle, 22'' Tapered round barrel, Although some 400,000 plus model 74 rifles were produced, it is a rifle that is seldom encountered & little is know. Cartridges load through the buttstock once the mag follower is removed through the metal buttplate. The original American straight grain walnut & flat pistol grip stock is excellent, with several minor contusions, scratches & scuffs to the original finish. Factory metal blue finish rates 85% overall. Bore is excellent & bright. Fitted an adjustable rear & small blade front sights. The unique receiver mounted safety functions by sliding it side to side within a dovetail channel. An original Winchester semi-auto .22. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 300 to 500
