Gustav Genschow & Co., Original Geco Carabiner, Model 1919, .22 L.R Cal. (54 MM), MFG: 1920's, SN: 805, Bolt Action Rifle, 23'' round barrel, with treaded muzzle. These German made rifles were often refered to in Europe as ''Garden Guns''. The checkered, cheeked & round pistol grip wood stock is fair & solid, despite a break in the stock which has necessitated tape at the wrist & a large glued crack repair on the left side of receiver running into the checkering on left side of wrist. The stock has small contusions, scrapes & scratches to the original finish. There is a large trademark oak leaf/tree cartouche on the right side of stock, with the word ''GECO'' & ''1919''. The top of the receiver has the same leaf/tree & ''GECO'' trademark. The metal blue finish has fully worn gun metal gray. The barrel is fitted with a fixed rear sight & a gunsmith made post in dovetail front sight. Bore is fair, with roughness, pitting & scarring amongst worn rifling. Smooth metal buttplate. Missing the triggerguard. Appears to fuction fine, but could use some work to restore properly. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 50 to 100
