Marlin, Model 28, CAL: 12 GA, MFG: 1913-23, SN: 12635, Pump Action Shotgun, 26'' Matted barrel. The left side of the barrel is marked with the address/patent dates & marked ''SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL''. The model & SN are on the bottom of the frame/trigger guard. The original scalloped pistol grip stock & forend are good & solid. There is edge chipping at the edge of the lower tang & right side of receive, alongside other dings & scrapes throughout the stocks. There is darkening from oils & use at the wrist. The blued finish on the barrel rates 70%, with thinning & spotting toned to a brown patina. The receiver rates 85%, with edge wear & thinning/spotting toned to a brown patina. Bore is good & bright, but has light scarring, spotting/speckling & striations. Barrel holds single front bead. Stock carries a heavily worn & deteriorating period buttpad. LOP: 12 3/4''.
