HISTORY: These rifles were made for training military cadets at military schools like West Point & Annapolis. They have shorter combs, narrower buttstocks & buttplate. The whole rifle is three inches shorter than the service rifle & weighed a quarter of a pound less. They were made smaller for the younger & smaller cadets so they could handle them eaiser. The right cheek is stamped ''20''. The barrel has toned to a brown patina with spots of roughness/ dark patina. a bunch of small tool ding marks on the top of the barrel, in front of the forward barrel band. The finish on the receiver/ breech block has worn to a mixture of gun metal gray & spotted dark patina. the lock plate has worn gray with dark patina setting in.
