Izhevsk, Model: M44 Mosin carbine, Cal: 7.62x54mmR, MFG: 1945, S/N: RC012189 (Original barrel PM 6847), Bolt action rifle, 20'' barrel. The straight wrist wood stock is excellent as being Sanded & re-finished. Stock has a coupe, small scratches & scuffs. The rear barrel band spring is missing. No visible cartouches on stock. The metal has a arsenal re-finish. The blued metal finish on the barrel rates 97% with a couple scratches at the muzzle, & the metal is starting to tone plum. The receiver finish rates 94% with a few scratches, & the metal is toning plum. The magazine, bayonet & other small metal parts are starting to tone plum as well. The left side of the receiver is stamped with import markings. The top rear of the barrel is marked with a hammer & sickle in wheat wreath stamp, ''1945r', the original Russian S/N, arrow in triangle, & many other proof marks. The gun was refurbished after WW2 & many of the markings are faded from the re-finish job. More small proofs on other metal parts. S/N matching bolt, magazine floorplate & buttplate. The floorplate is forced matched with the old S/N crossed out. The S/N marked area on the bolt has buff marks & is likely forced matched as well. The back of the bolt cocking piece is scratched ''847''. The bore is very good. Bright with light roughness. Has been counter-bored. The barrel holds a post front sight with protective globe. The rear sight is a tangent U-notch marked 1 to 10. The stock carries a blued buttplate. Buttplate has light finish wear on the edges. Remains of the post WW2 refurb stock shellac on the upper tang of buttplate. The stock has both sling wells for use with leather ''dog collars''. Affixed folding cruciform bayonet. The rifle has a cleaning rod. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 250 to 500
