Ludwig Loewe & Co., Model: 1891 Argentino Mauser, Cal: 7.65x53mm Mauser, MFG: 1896, S/N: N 5110, Bolt action rifle, 19 7/8'' barrel. The aftermarket pistol griped, cheeked Montecarlo stock is very good near excellent, with a few minor scuffs & scratches. The blued metal finish on the barrel rates 75% with about full coverage but is starting to thin & tone to a brown patina. some deep bluing remains on the stock line & around the chamber. The blued metal finish on the receiver rates 70% with scattered spots of patina & the top of the receiver ring where the crest was buffed off is completely toned brown. S/N matching bolt, barrel, & magazine. The bore is very good. Its bright with strong rifling but roughness. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with white paint, & a flip up ladder V-notch rear sight marked 4 to 20. The stock carries a plastic buttplate. Rifle has both sling studs. Last year of Ludwig Loewe Co. production before they merged into DWM later in 1896. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 200 to 400
