Ludwig Loewe & Co., Model: 1895 Chileno Mauser, Cal: 7x57mm Mauser, MFG: 1895, S/N: G1271, Bolt action rifle, 29 '' barrel. The straight wrist walnut stock is very good with small nicks, dings, scratches, & vice marks. The left cheek of the stock is stamped with the Chilean acceptance stamp of the Chile coat of arms over ''1895''. The left side of the stock is stamped with the S/N, just below the S/N marking on the receiver. Small cartouche on the upper handguard. All markings are crisp & legible with exception to the acceptance stamp, its worn on the bottom edge. The blued metal finish rates 96% overall with a few spots of light thinning & one small spot of roughness on the top of the barrel. The left side of the receiver is marked with the S/N, two proof marks, ''MAUSER CHILENO MODELO 1895'', ''MANUFACTURA LOEWE BERLIN.''. someone has also scratched their drivers license number just below the S/N. the top of the receiver band is stamped with the Chilean coat of arms. Other metal parts have various proof marks. S/N matching magazine floor plate & trigger guard. S/N mismatched bolt, bolt shroud & safety match but mismatched the bolt body. The bore is excellent. Bright & mirrorlike with little to no wear. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a flip-up ladder, V-notch rear sight marked 5 to 20. The stock carries a blued steel buttplate with finish wear around the edges. The rifle has both bottom sling loops & has a cleaning rod. a beautiful condition Chilean Mauser.
