Zbrojovka Brno (Czech), Model: VZ-24, Cal: 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser), MFG: 1929, S/N: 6839H2, Bolt action rifle, 23 1/2'' barrel. The semi-pistol grip wood stock is very good with nicks, dings, dents, small chips, & wear from use/age. The S/N is stamped into the left cheek of stock. The bottom of the wrist is stamped with three small markings that read ''P'', ''D'', ''3''. Unmarked unit disc embedded into right cheek of stock. The blued metal finish has mostly worn to a gun metal gray with thinned remains of the original finish in protected areas. The overall finish rates 20%. The left side of the receiver is marked ''VZ.24''. the left side of the receiver band is marked with the S/N, a proof ''E'' lion ''29''. The top of the receiver band is marked ''CESKOSLOVENSKA'', ''ZBROJOVKA'', ''BRNO''. All parts S/N matching. The bore is very good. its bright with light roughness throughout & one more concentrated spot of light roughness about 3'' from the muzzle. the barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a checkered base. Rear sight is a tangent V-notch thats marked 3 to 20. The stock carries a steel buttplate that was left in the white & is starting to tone to a brown patina. The rifle has a cleaning rod. has both bottom & side sling loops. Rifle comes with correct bayonet & sheath. A nice all numbers matching Czech made Mauser thats seen plenty of love.
